We are so grateful you decided to join the squad to fundraise for Raghav’s medical research. This is a fundraising effort around Mother’s day 2021 (May 1 - May 15th) to celebrate and cherish motherhood (not for just moms) but for every women who is kind, generous and makes the world a better place. Thank you for taking on this initiative in addition to the million things you already do. The goal for this campaign is to bring together people to help fundraise through a peer to peer model for Raghav and HAVE FUN during this process.

Why are we fundraising for Raghav this Mother’s day?

Hori1.jpg

Raghav has an ultra rare genetic disorder called Sedaghatian type Spondylometaphyseal Dysplasia (SSMD). He is 2.5 years old, but cannot sit up without support. He doesn’t have the muscle strength to hold a toy in his hand. He doesn’t have the oral strength to swallow food. He cannot hear normally. His bones are not developing as expected. Raghav’s future is described as wheelchair bound, non-verbal and prone to premature death. Despite all this Raghav manages to always smile, be it waking up from his crib or from an ICU bed. He is that resilient! Learn more about Raghav’s journey @ curegpx4.org. No treatment today, but there is hope! Raghav’s parents (Ramya and Sanath) have partnered with leading researchers to develop a gene therapy drug to fix the faulty gene. It costs $5-7 million. This fundraising effort is to fund Raghav’s Gene therapy research.

Lastly, please know you are not alone

Ramya’s role will be to empower you with the required technology, and be a cheerleader for your efforts. She will always be there to answer questions and help give you ideas to fundraise.

Ramya will not be able to promote this fundraiser on her social media for two reasons (1) There are quite a few fundraisers going on at the same time and her social channels are saturated with asks (2) Ramya has a big personal fundraiser (for Raghav) coming up in August 2021, so we want to give her social media a rest in preparation for that.

However, please tag Ramya in any posts you decide to share on social media or the emails you will send out. Ramya and Sanath are very grateful for all your efforts.
